Online Gambling Virginia
Legal land-based gambling in Virginia is limited to playing the lottery and wagering on out-of-state races in one of the five licensed off-track betting facilities. Local contests are not available because Virginia’s sole racetrack, Colonial Downs, was closed in 2014 due to a severe conflict with the Virginia Racing Commission. The property was even considered. The Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs (OCRP) promotes the integrity of charitable gaming activities in the Commonwealth.
OCRP is responsible for issuing or renewing approximately 300 charitable gaming permits per year to organizations, as well as the regulation of charitable gaming activities in the Commonwealth. Additionally, under Virginia’s charitable gaming regulations, VDACS performs on-site training and operational inspections of bingo events, initiates compliance audits of organizations conducting charitable gaming and more.

The Bingo Session Interactive Analysis Tool is designed to assist organizations in identifying their strengths and weaknesses in their bingo sessions. This interactive tool will provide financial insight into each permitted session specific to the day of week/time of the session, whether the session needs to be restructured, and it offers suggestions on the options for making adjustments to potentially increase game profits.
